Minimalist Games ("we", "us", "the site") operates minimalist-games.com. This page explains what data we collect when you visit and play our games, what we do with it, and what choices you have.
What we collect
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site. The information collected is aggregate and pseudonymous: page views, approximate location (country/region, derived from your IP and then anonymised), device type, browser, time on site, and which games are played. We do not collect names, email addresses, or anything that directly identifies you as an individual.
We instruct Google Analytics to anonymise IP addresses before storage. We honour the browser Do Not Track signal — if your browser sends it, no analytics are collected during your visit.
Game state
The games store local progress (such as your best 2048 score) in your browser's localStorage. This data lives only on your device, never leaves it, and is not visible to us. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Advertising
We display ads through Google AdSense to keep the site free. AdSense and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your interests and prior visits to our site or other sites. You can manage these choices at Google Ads Settings or opt out of personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
What we don't collect
- No accounts, no passwords, no email addresses.
- No payment information — the site is free.
- No microphone, camera, contacts, or location beyond approximate region.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade visitor data to third parties.
Cookies
The site itself does not set first-party cookies. Google Analytics and Google AdSense set their own cookies as described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the games will continue to work, but ads may be less relevant.
Children
The site is suitable for general audiences and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has interacted with us in a way that requires deletion of any data, contact us at the email below.
Your rights (EU/EEA, UK, Brazil, California)
Under regional privacy laws (GDPR, UK GDPR, LGPD, CCPA) you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you. Because we do not maintain user accounts and the analytics data is pseudonymous, the practical scope of these rights is limited. Requests can be sent to the contact address below.
Third-party services
- Google Analytics — see Google's privacy policy.
- Google AdSense — see how Google uses cookies in advertising.
- Firebase Hosting (Google) — serves the site's static files. Standard server logs apply.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site evolves. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for at least 14 days.
